Planting day for Charlton Park Wildlife Meadow
We're creating a wildlife haven in Charlton Park! Join us and plant some hedgerow shrubs around the meadow's edge.

About the event
The disused pitches at the cemetery end of Charlton Park are set to be transformed into an ecological hub with wild natural grasses, a central pond feature and mown walkways... And we need your help!
It's almost spring, the meadow is waking up and the kind folks at I Dig Trees have donated a couple of packs of trees and shrubs to help create a hedgerow around the edge of Charlton Park Wildlife Meadow 🙌
The species we'll be planting are hazel, hawthorn, grey willow, dog rose and dogwood.
Please come prepared for a day of outdoor work: wear gloves, old clothes and sturdy boots, and bring water, sun cream or raincoats, and any snacks you fancy. Bring a spade and fork/mattock if you have one; others will be supplied.
